Earth Day

The Rice Bowl Journals Collaboration Project for April 2008 is calling for an Earth Day theme. I decided to do a photo essay highlighting some of my favorite photos featuring natural scenery.

Tulips
Three years ago my wife planted tulips in the front yard of our house, and each April they spring up and pop up in full bloom. This is how the tulips looked this year.

Burke Lake Park
This picture was taken during a Sunday excursion to Burke Lake Park. We had our first meeting with the youth group that we had become the couples coordinator for.

Shenandoah Valley
We have an annual fall tradition of traveling to the Shenandoah Valley and Luray Caverns to see the fall foliage. Last year my Mom’s friends visited her from LA, and we took them to Shenandoah, taking several pictures like this one.

Tagaytay
This picture was taken by my cousin during our recent trip to the Philippines. It was taken at Tagaytay. I wasn’t there, as I was in Davao with my wife at the time. I was happy they were able to get this picture.

Fish in Pearl Farm
This picture was taken during our trip to Pearl Farm. The water was clear enough to see the fish, and it was fun throwing bread and seeing a big school of fish swim over to grab the food.

Moonlight Over the Sea
This was one of my favorite shots that I took during the trip. This was taken at Pearl Farm right before sunrise. It was not a full moon, but I thought the picture turned out great.

These pictures are among my favorite pictures featuring natural scenery. Of course, we must work hard to make sure we continue to be able to take such pictures of nature.
